Save Kevin

The Need

Koch Business Solutions was opening an office in Reno, Nevada, in hopes of attracting top IT talent out of Silicon Valley and Sacramento, California. They only had one year to fill an office with 30 qualified employees.

The Solution

I conceptualized and wrote the “Save Kevin” campaign, which focused on the trials and tribulations of Kevin, the real-life hiring manager for the Reno office. This playful and self-deprecating campaign asked the audience to save our lonely hero by applying for a job and joining his team.

The Results

Within a year, KBS was already seeking larger office space because the original location was at occupancy capacity. More than 725 applications were started and every ad had much higher click through rates than the national average. In the process, Kevin went from a solitary manager to a mini-Reno celebrity.
